A Buenos Aires native, Gabriela Alarcón studied guitar and singing during her adolescence, with an emphasis on tango. It was her father who cultivated her love for this music.
Beginning with the age of twenty, she devoted her singing more and more to tango, studying with masters such as Mireille, pianist and composer with extensive experience in the genre. Her approach is not limited to voice; she devoted herself to learning the tango also through dance interpretation.
She started participating in local competitions (Villa Urquiza, Villa Pueyrredon, Belgrano, San Martín) and then began to perform in top venues in the city: La Esquina Homero Manzi, The Home of Tango, Complejo Tango, La manzana de las luces, etc.) .
Since December 2006 she has been activating in Italy, where Gabriela began collaborating with different musicians and performing in Italy and abroad.
Gabriela’s interest is not only limited to the interpretation of the songs that are part of the classical repertoire, but is also incorporating composition. This is part of her desire to forward her passion for music and the culture of her city, in an attempt to provide a small contribution to the genre: a way of thanking for all that the tango has been and continues to be in her life.
